Why We Don't Claim to 'Boost' Your GLP-1
Deel
Search for "GLP-1 supplement" and you'll find two kinds of products. The first kind promises to raise your body's own GLP-1 — "lose weight naturally, no injections". The second kind supports people who use GLP-1 medication with the nutrients that smaller portions leave out.
Mayntain firmly belongs to the second kind. Here's why.
Why we don't make the 'booster' claim
1. The biology doesn't cooperate. Your body's own GLP-1 has a half-life of a few minutes — it is broken down almost immediately by the enzyme DPP-4. GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide work precisely because they are engineered to bypass that breakdown and stay active for days. A capsule that slightly raises your own GLP-1 is simply not comparable.
2. The legal reality confirms it. In the US and Canada, lawsuits are running against supplement brands claiming their 'GLP-1 booster' leads to weight loss. We don't want to be a brand that has to defend its promise in court.
3. Our customers already HAVE GLP-1. If you use Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound, you don't need a booster — the medication does the work. What you do need: nutrition. Eating 30–50% less means less protein, fewer vitamins and minerals, exactly when your body is working hard. You see it in your hair, energy, muscles and digestion.
